ABOUT PROJECT

Oil India Limited or OIL, in its endeavour to create skilled and employable youth from the districts of Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Jorhat and Sibasagar, partnered with Learnet Skills to implement placement based skill training programmes under project Swabalamban.

Swabalamban project, under the CSR of OIL focuses on skill development of unemployed youth through placement linked skills training in districts of Assam. The objective of the skills programme is to strengthen the community including women, minority youth, and unprivileged rural youth through placement linked skills training, as well as enhancing opportunities for self employment The objective of the skills programme is to strengthen communities across all sections of society including women, minority youth, and unprivileged rural youth through placement linked skills training.  

Acquiring a skill empowers youth, helps them expand their horizons and enhance the quality of not only their lives, but also the lives of their families and communities. The trades included under project Swabalamban are: hospitality, electrician, industrial sewing machine operator, automobiles, CNC Operator, among others

OUR IMPACT

These programs have successfully created new opportunities, broken cultural barriers, and created alternative sustainable livelihood options and job opportunities for thousands in Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, and Charaideo, Assam. Some milestones include:
