Project Akanksha aims at empowering in-service drivers by equipping them with holistic development skills to improve their financial viability. Learnet, as the implementing partner, will train 25,000 drivers over the course of the project.
With the fast-changing economy, it is important for blue-collar workers to develop holistic skills and all-rounded experience. As the pandemic has shown us, soft skills like communication, resilience, and financial literacy, are equally important as domain skills. Learnet Skills and Tata Motors Finance recognise this gap that exists especially among blue-collar workers, who form the backbone of the economy. Project Akanksha is thus aimed to fill this lacuna through a comprehensive Driver Upliftment and Cash Flow Maintenance Programme for safeguarding the financial future of truck drivers. A mix of theory and practical sessions are included to keep the project vitalised and holistic.
Key elements of the programme include courses on:
- Inculcating Financial Acumen and Discipline
- Developing Employability Skills through Entrepreneurship Development, Decision Making, and Time Management
- Awareness on Road Safety, Substance Abuse, and Health & Wellness Management
- Soft Skills
- Expense Tracking through an open-source platform
Learnet is conducting this 20-hour programme in 8 locations spread across the country:
- Ambala
- Namakkal
- Guwahati
- Gwalior
- Hyderabad
- Lucknow
- Mumbai
- Muzaffarpur
