The American Heart Association (AHA) is an international resuscitation council that publishes and regulates the scientific guidelines every 5 years for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC), which further forms the foundation of lifesaving protocols and skills used by healthcare professionals, companies, and hospitals across the world. The AHA ACLS (Advance Cardiovascular Life Support) course is designed for healthcare providers who wish to impart further specialized care with basic life support. This two-day advanced level course covers a variety of topics essential and applicable to most emergencies. The candidate is expected to know basics of ECG and Pharmacology. The programme covers how to identify and treat tachyarrthymias, bradyarrthymias, cardiac arrest and return of spontaneous circulation, acute coronary syndrome, stroke, chain of survival, effective team dynamics in detail.
